American International Cotton Association joins Sustainable Apparel Alliance

After joining the Sustainable Apparel Alliance, the American International Cotton Association will provide data and resources to support the Higg Index.

Recently, the American International Cotton Association (CCI) announced its participation in the Sustainable Apparel Alliance (SAC) and will use the alliance ’s sustainability assessment tool Higg Index to promote environmental and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.

As a member of the Sustainable Apparel Alliance, the International Cotton Association will work with more than 250 global brands, retailers and manufacturers, as well as governments, non-profit environmental organizations and academic institutions to work together to improve the apparel, footwear and textile industry supply chain Sustainability.

In the past 35 years, the US cotton industry has achieved outstanding environmental protection achievements in the development of sustainable cotton cultivation, and will continue to make continuous improvements.

Higg Index is an index-based basic measurement tool that enables suppliers, manufacturers, brands and retailers to evaluate materials, products, production facilities and processes based on environmental performance, social labor practices and product design to improve supply Chain transparency encourages decision makers to make decisions that increase efficiency and sustainability.
